Sabrina Carpenter is probably one of the biggest names in music now. But there is one thing she is not: a role model for your children.
So let’s stop trying to do it in one.
Today, the singer announced the title of her future album: The best friend of man.
While the fans were excited, an element had parents begging collectively, Please, please – be less “embarrassing”.
Sabrina Carpenter is no longer Disney’s girlfriend
Alongside the announcement came the album cover and is already igniting anger.
Sabrina is kneeling next to a man standing on her, holding her hair like a caterpillar.
The villagers are grappling their steps, and the moral panic has officially entered the group conversation.
But here is the thing: Sabrina Carpenter never asked to baby the values of your children. It is a pop star, not a public service announcement.
Facebook, as expected, did NO Get well. Fortunately, the comment section in its post does not constitute the Grammys Voting Academy.
“Sabrina this album cover is not her,” a person collided.
Another wrote, “Katy Perry was canceled for less than that.”
“What a tasteless album, Yuck,” added a third.
But not only are they losing the point, they are waiting for a global superstar to reprint themselves to match their Sensitivity.
My intake? Sabrina is offering comments on how men and the entertainment industry perceive women. The idea that it exists simply for male watching.
It has drafted a satirical response to how it is publicly perceived. And the design of the expectations she cares about for a child -friendly audience is simply unfair. She is an adult who has never told her children’s music.
In fact, getting a attitude like this is something to be admired. If anything, it offers an opportunity for new minds, especially pre-adolesters who begin to form their worldview, consider what it means to challenge stereotypes, master your narrative, and recover autonomy.
Designing the reception she cares about for the new audience is an unfair question. She is an adult who has never traded her music to children.
Yes, it started at Disney Channel. But she has grown and so does her art.
You can’t parent a pop star
During Short n ‘sweet Tour, Sabrina copied reactions from parents who brought their teens to the show, just to be shocked by sexual indue and simulated sex positions on stage.
But, I want to say … the song of the cramping, Juno, was not exactly delicate. If you have chosen to ignore the red flags this is on you.
She is not hiding anything – it’s okay there, loud and shiny.
At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the parent to monitor what media is consuming their children.
You will not get them to watch a MA15+ horror film in the cinema. Then why are you uploading Sabrina Carpenter to their Spotify game list without making a Vibe check?
Personally, I’m a fan. I’ve loved her music since I saw her open for Taylor Swift in Eras tour Just over two years ago.
Seeing that she pushes these kinds of critical conversations through pop music opens a door for important discussions with our children. About how women are not here to be objectified or boxed by men’s expectations.
When I was a teenager, I saw the world RIP Miley Cyrus separately as she tried to pour the Hannah Montana wig.
Stars passing by Child Star in adult art tend to copy the heat more for it. For some reason, society raises those who are when they start their careers.
Parents lost their minds of its evolution. But at no point is the celebrity owe us the responsibility of parenting our children.
The stars that pass from the roles of children to more mature work tend to copy more heat for it.
For some reason, society likes to freeze them at the age they were when they first appeared on our screens. If you grow publicly it is a kind of betrayal.
Allow adult artists to have their full creative control, without the burden of what OUR Children can think.
