Of all those jobs, Gourmand says that paternity is the most important. “I think emotional about it,” he tells Alexa. “For me, it means making sure the person you are growing up is the best contributor to the world – so someone who is thoughtful, careful, proactive, ambitious, loving and attentive.”

From a young age, his parents – Toronto’s chef and restorer Richard Andino and model and actress Joanna Garel – put in a mentality of achievement. And they were strict. “My father taught me the meaning of the tireless work and the meaning of a dollar,” says Tastemaker. “The immigrant mentality is: Run and work as hard as you can to do better for the next generation.”
