Ankler Innovations are reminiscent of more than 1.1 million energy banks as some users reported fires and explosions.
The company said a problem can potentially make the lithium-ion battery within some of its electricity banks in the Powercore 10000 “leading to the melting of plastic, smoke and fire risks.
The memory, notified on Thursday, applies specifically to the Energy Banks Ankler Powercore 10000 holding the “A1263” model number and certain serial numbers sold in the US, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The model number and serial number can be found on a label located at the bottom of the energy bank.
Sales of withdrawal banks took place on the Ankler website, as well as Amazon, Newgg and Ebay, between June 2016 and December 2022.
Ankler said on her website that she released “withdrawal” out of a abundance of care to ensure the safety of our customers. “
There have been 19 cases of fires and explosions related to the battery issue, according to the CPSC memory announcement.
Two incidents resulted in “minor combustion injuries” that did not need medical care. Property damage worth more than $ 60,700 was raised from 11 incidents.
Customers “should immediately stop the use of withdrawal banks and contact Ankler Innovations for guidelines for receiving a free -replacement bank,” the CPSC announcement reads. They can register for withdrawing on a particular page on the Ankler website.
“If your unit is confirmed to be part of the withdrawal, stop using it immediately,” the ankler told its website. “Even if it seems to work normally, there may still be a risk of overheating, fires or other security issues.”
Owners of drawn banks will have to give a photo “showing the model number, serial number, their name, photo date and the word ‘remembered’ written on the Energy Bank in Permanent Marker” to receive a replacement, according to the announcement. They will have to provide evidence that they certainly have energy banks.
Ankler said power banks should be thrown into a “certified structure that accepts lithium -drawn batteries” as they cannot be thrown into the trash or normally recycled.
Customers must check with their municipal domestic waste collection center to see if it can dispose of energy banks, the withdrawal announcement advised.
The company will give customers the opportunity to wait for replacement or receive a $ 30 “gift card if replacements are on the orders”, according to the Ankler website.
