Democratic veteran strategyman James Carville argued Thursday in Podcast’s “Political War House” episode that the Democratic Party would be better if “people like Bernie Sanders and AOC” would no longer determine it.
Carville claimed that Democrats have candidates who are “stunning more talented” than Senator Bernie Sanders, D-VT., And Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., and it’s time to start taking these alternative candidates to voters.
Meanwhile, Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez have gained influence through their “oligarchy combat tour” across the country, quickly becoming the face of the Democratic Party’s progressive wing.
Ocasio-Cortez has not yet made its presidential ambition, but many politics, including Fivethirteight founder and prominent Silver survey, are predicting that it will be the Democratic Party candidate in the 2028 elections.
The 80-year-old democratic strategy pointed out the pool of the party’s deep talent that they have to show to help redefine its identity.
“There is really depth and talent in the Democratic Party and the sooner we can get them on the field and the people who see them, and the sooner we can get people like Bernie Sanders and AOC not determine who the party is, the better we will be,” Carville argued.
Carville invited half-hearted Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders to run for the White House in 2028, but claimed to have much more “talented” and “articulated” candidates there for the Democrats to run.
“If AOC wants to run for president or wants to put her name on the ballot, let her come. Bernie Sanders, run twice and lost twice. Maybe he wants to get a third time. I have no problem with it,” Carville said, “But make sure we get, who are most talented, most stunning, most talented, most stunning, more articulated more articulated there ”.
Tensions between Carville and Ocasio-Cortez have been boiling recently, especially after a spat last month which grew after Carville claimed the party had a “predicate women” problem.
“One of my doubts is that there are many preaching women,” Carville said in an interview with a New York Times columnist about self-esteem messages he claimed was widespread in his party. ““ Don’t drink beer. Don’t look football. Do not eat hamburgers. That’s not good for you. “”
He went on: “The message is very feminine: ‘Everything everything you are doing is destroy the planet. You have to eat your peas.” “
“Maybe he has to start a podcast about it,” wrote Ocasio-Cortez in a post on X. “I hear that men are really under-represent in that space.”
